When using oil-based colored pencils to create watercolor like effects, “blurring” is the key to eliminating drawn lines. Solvents commonly used in traditional oil painting, such as turpentine or petrol, have been used to achieve this blurring effect.Solvents however, soak into the paper and cause damage.
